10 Bands with Siblings

What was the inspiration for Dramatic Sneezer, Nathaniel and Nicole Hardwick’s band in The Rock Star’s Wife series?  A number of real-world bands with siblings, of course.  Here are 10:

30 Seconds to Mars

30 Seconds to Mars, also written Thirty Seconds to Mars, was founded by brothers Jared and Shannon Leto.  Jared is the front man and plays guitar.  Shannon plays drums.  The brothers have had bandmates (Tomo Miličević, Matt Wachter and Solon Bixler) in the past but are currently a duo.

The band has released six albums, most recently It’s the End of the World but It’s a Beautiful Day.

Chevelle

Chevelle formed in 1995 and was founded by brothers Pete (frontman and guitar), Sam (drums), and Joe Loeffler (bass).  Joe departed in 2004 and was replaced with Sam and Pete’s brother-in-law Dean Bernardini.  This kept them a band of brothers, the Loefflers said.  Bernardini left the band in late 2019.

The band has released nine albums plus a full length B-sides album.

Collective Soul

Halestorm is unique on this list insomuch as it is the only band with a brother and sister. Lzzy (frontwoman and guitar) and Arejay Hale (drums) formed the band in 1997 when they were still children.  The band’s name is a play on their surname.  Other current members are Joe Hottinger (guitar) and Josh Smith (bass).

The band has released five albums.

Highly Suspect

Oasis founded in 1991 and included brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher.  The brothers in-fighting led to the band’s demise in 2009 and caused news multiple times since thanks to the brothers’ publicly hurled insults and refusals to reconcile.

The band released seven albums.

Here’s the 4-1-1

Rock Star Romance by Melina DrugaThis blog is a companion piece to The Rock Star’s Wife, a series about sex, family, and rock & roll.  The series has elements of chick lit, romance and erotica and is best compared to The Vagina Monologues for its frank talk of sex and its consequences.  The series follows Cassandra from her teenage years into her 40s as she navigates relationships (both romantic and platonic) — all with music playing a prominent roll.

Book three, Rock Star Romance, debuts February 2024:  Cassandra swore off men to recover from an amicable, but heart wrenching, breakup.  Nathaniel endured a nasty, gut wrenching breakup and hasn’t dated since.  When they meet, sparks ignite.   Will they mend each other’s broken hearts?
